E-fit issued in hunt for robber

An e-fit has been issued of a robber who threatened a man with a hypodermic needle and demanded cash.

Police released the image following the robbery in Portsmouth during the early hours of Tuesday. The 19-year-old victim had been on a night out.

About 3am he went to the Hard in Portsea, when a woman gave him a sob story and he agreed to lend her some money. She followed him to a cash point and asked him to wait in nearby Havant Street while she went to order a taxi.

Soon after she returned, a man came over to the victim, threatened him with a hypodermic needle and demanded he hand over his valuables.

The victim was shaken but not injured.

The robber was described as looking grubby, white, 5ft 9in tall, in his 20s and wearing a blue hooded top and dark trousers.

Officers particularly want to talk to the woman, to eliminate her from their enquiries.

Witnesses should call DC Pete Bambury at Southsea CID on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
