£46,000 to help support vulnerable youngsters

A CHARITY which supports disadvantaged youngsters has received a boost of more than £46,000.

Dreamwall helps hundreds of youngsters from the Portsmouth area by offering support during vulnerable times in their lives.

The charity has received a grant for 46,682 from Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales, through its community programme.

Brett Rennolds, the executive founder at Dreamwall, said: 'The funding is great news for the young people we support. It provides essential stability over the next two years to provide one to one support to young people.'

The charity is aimed at helping youngsters from 10 to 16 who have been referred by social services, crime prevention teams, school welfare officers and support agencies.

It runs activity weekends in the New Forest, plus week-long courses. Dreamwall needs volunteers, including vocational students, particularly for the summer. Call (023) 9275 1275 or visit at www.dreamwall.org.uk
