Grub's up as Fox and Hounds gets to show off its £25,000 makeover

A pub has undergone a major £25,000 makeover.

The Fox & Hounds on Stakes Hill Road in Waterlooville is set to open a new kitchen which will allow it to serve food for the first time since December last year.

The cash, from Admiral Taverns, also goes towards the replacement of doors and door frames and flooring within the pub.

Landlord Alan Farrington, who first came to the pub in December 2008 with his partner Sara-Jane Gormely, is delighted with the results of the kitchen refurbishment.

Alan said: 'When myself and my Sara-Jane first came to the pub, the kitchen was in a terrible state.

'Sara-Jane and I had invested some of our own money in redecorating the pub and starting on the kitchen improvements, but the investment from Admiral has been of huge benefit and gave us the final push we needed to get everything done.

'Now we can't wait to get in the kitchen and start creating our own menu.'

Geoff Spafford, business development manager for Admiral Taverns, said: 'We're keen to support landlords like Alan and Sarah-Jane who have a lot of passion and enthusiasm for their pub by giving them a platform to try something new and helping them make the most of their business.'
