Eating up for fun and for charity on Hayling Island

Imagine tucking into a hog roast with a pint of cool beer in your hand for charity.

Well that's what you'll get at this year's Hayling Island Businessmen's Club barbecue.

With a live band, licensed bar, games and shows, the event, at Northney Farm, St Peter's Road, is a staple of the Hayling Island social calendar.

It is held every year to raise money for a minibus which any charity based on the island can use for free.

Club chairman Andy Lenaghan said: 'We recently purchased land and built the minibus its own garage so that we have a permanent home for it.

'The bus is replaced around every three years so we are constantly fundraising for it.

'The barbecue is always a success and great fun for all the family.'

Admission to the July 11 event is by ticket only and costs 16, with food.
