Eight Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent properties hit by burglars in four days

THIEVES have stolen mobile phones, laptops, jewellery and a samurai sword in a spate of eight burglaries within four days.

The thefts in Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent have seen thieves break into homes, smash a window with a brick to steal items and open unlocked doors to get into homes.

In one case, offenders crept into a home while its occupants were asleep and stole a handbag, backpack and wallet.

Between Wednesday and Saturday, homes in Gosport including in The Crossways, Ferrol Road, Russell Street, Leonard Road, Dunkeld Road, Findon Road and Kingston Road were targeted.

Fitzroy Drive in Lee-on-the-Solent was also targeted by burglars.

Police say they are keeping on open mind as to whether or not the cases are linked.

Anyone with information should call 101.
