Family in motorway crash
A family had a lucky escape after their car veered off the M27 and over turned in woodland.
The family of five were heading eastbound on the M27 when their Renault Megane veered off the carriageway and went through a gap in the crash barrier.
The incident happened at 1am today (June 22) on the eastbound stretch of the M27 between junction eight for Bursledon and nine for Whiteley.
Four ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, one doctor and fire crews from Fareham, High Town and Southampton, attended.
Fareham fire station watch manager Jim Stone said: 'It's a miracle they didn't suffer serious injuries.
'By the time we got there all five were out, including their puppy which had run off but we found it.'
All five were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
One suffered a fractured leg, one had facial and back injuries and another neck injuries. The other two were fine but taken to hospital as a precaution. No-one was believed to be seriously injured.
