As one of only three sitting Lib Dems defending a seat, councillor Eric Dunn saw off a strong challenge from Tory candidate Sheila Tavendale, with Labour's Angela Carr trailing a long way behind.
The victory extends Cllr Dunn's second run on the council since he was re-elected in 2004. He had originally sat on the council from 1994 to 1999.
