Fire crew called to free woman trapped in bed

FIREFIGHTERS were called to free an elderly Portsmouth woman trapped in a bed guard.

The 85-year-old woman, who lives in sheltered housing at Brunel Court, on Nutfield Place, Landport, had twisted in her sleep and got her leg stuck inside the guard designed to stop her from falling out of bed.

One crew from Southsea attended the incident at 6.43am this morning to lift and free the woman.

She was not injured.
