Former policeman in court

A FORMER policeman accused of selling details of two high-profile cases to The Sun newspaper has appeared in court.

Alan Tierney, 40, of Manor Road, Hayling, was allegedly paid £1,750 in 2009 while working for Surrey Police.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court facing two charges of misconduct in public office. He was bailed and will stand trial next month.
