Future of summer activities will be decided

CITY councillors will consider whether to keep Nova International as the organiser of the Bupa Great South Run.

The company has requested a five-year extension to the contract it already has with Portsmouth City Council.

The council is also considering revamping the Heavy Horse show, which takes place at Castle Field, Southsea, each summer. A report revealed visitor numbers had decreased and a new ‘rural and seaside show’ could be set up instead.

The issues will be decided by Councillor Lee Hunt, cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport, at a meeting in Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday at 1pm.
