Golf club club offers taster trial to drive children's charity
A GOLF club is offering festive taster-trials to raise money for a centre for children with cerebral palsy.
From now until January 18, people can buy a 12-day taster trial at Quindell Golf and Country Club in Whiteley for just 20.07 (for 2007) with all money going to The Rainbow Centre in Fareham.
Golf club owner Rob Terry said: 'It is a great pleasure to help such a deserving charity. We are hoping to raise around 16,000 for the centre.'
The taster trial includes use of the gym, pool and spa facilities, as well as a round of golf on the simulator and on the 18-hole course.
For every person who purchases the taster, their money will go towards helping the Rainbow Centre which relies entirely on donations. It has to find 500,000 a year – more than 1,000 a day.
Helen Somerset How, appeals director and co-founder of the centre, said: 'We are so pleased that Quindell Golf and Country Club have chosen to support us.
'The club is raising money in a different way to other fund-raising activities we have experienced but this is great as it's so innovative and helps people work off that festive indulgence.'
