Golfers tee off for our forces
Golfers across Hampshire will tee off to support the country's wounded soldiers later this month, in a series of tournaments to raise money for Help for Heroes.
The tournaments are part of a nationwide initiative called the National Golf Club Challenge, which will see hundreds of golf clubs - and thousands of golfers - raise money for the charity.
Golf clubs taking part include Wickham Park, near Fareham and Cams Hall Estate in Fareham.
The National Golf Club Challenge, which is on course to becoming the UK's biggest amateur charity golf event, is aiming to raise over 1m for Help for Heroes this summer.
Nick Moran, spokesman for Crown Golf, which owns the clubs, said: 'We expect to be making a large donation to Help for Heroes following our National Golf Club Challenge events.
'It is truly a worthy cause, which has huge support from the general public these days, and we're proud to give our golfers the chance to raise money for it.'
