Google cameras in city for street views
The Google Street View car has been seen in Portsmouth again – this time at London Road, Hilsea, just outside The News Centre.
The car was spotted yesterday at 2.40pm, grabbing shots of the city to be featured on the Google Street View service.
Portsmouth is set to feature on the website, which offers to bring the 'the city into your living room', by offering thousands of street-level shots which enable you to navigate its roads and take in the sights on offer from the comfort of an armchair.
Google has confirmed the car is in the city, but is unable to say how long it will be there.
It advises that it will take many months for the pictures to be taken and processed, then several more before the city becomes part of the Street View service.
