Harry Enfield takes on Viggers in Duck House videos

Disgraced MP Sir Peter Viggers's expenses claim for a duck house has inspired a Harry Enfield-backed campaign for political change.

The Open Up campaign has been launched alongside a series of web videos voiced by Harry Enfield and created by Blackadder writer John Lloyd.

Called 'Tales from the Duck House', the amusing videos are set in the garden of Gosport MP Sir Peter Viggers, who tried to claim a 1,645 floating duck island on his expenses.

The YouTube clips accompany a campaign and petition which warns faith in politics is plummeting.

The petition calls for open primaries in all constituencies so that residents can choose who will stand as a candidate.

It also suggests all existing MPs have to compete for re-selection.

This is already happening in Gosport where Conservatives will hold an open primary in Gosport, allowing residents to select their next Tory candidate. Sir Peter is standing down at the next election

Supporters of the Open Up campaign include Love Actually producer Tim Bevan; the founder of Brunswick PR, Alan Parker; and Sir Vernon Bogdanor, professor of government at Oxford University.
