AN ELDERLY woman had her purse snatched from her own home.
A man knocked on the door of an 82-year-old woman in St Michael’s Road in Locks Heath, between 4pm and 7pm on Wednesday.
He then went into her home where he stole a blue purse containing about £100 in cash.
The suspect was white, in his late 30s, with dark hair, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in and of medium build.
He had a local accent and wore a dark jacket.
Police staff investigator Jane Dye from Gosport police station said: ‘I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of St Michael’s Road at the time of this incident and saw anything suspicious
‘Did you see a man running from this direction?
‘Did you receive a knock on your door from an unknown man?
‘The stolen purse was dark blue with a tapestry strip down the front.
‘Please hand this into your local station if found.’
