Lord Mayor of Portsmouth is right on cue

Young people who feel they have nowhere to turn can now get help at a new youth centre.

Youth charity Motiv8 has a dedicated centre for people aged between 13 and 19 at Paulsgrove Community Centre in Marsden Road, Paulsgrove, thanks to 10,000 worth of refurbishments.

As well as a computer room, there is a chill-out space with flat-screen TVs, a PlayStation, Wii console and pool table.

Figures show here has been a 40 per cent reduction in young people entering the criminal justice system since Motiv8 started work in a small office at Paulsgrove Community Centre, five years ago.

Chief executive Charlie Adie said: 'This has been designed by young people for young people in one of the hardest-to-reach areas. We are really pleased to have a dedicated young person's venue in Paulsgrove.'
