Lotto cash will make Chichester parks more fun
Work to improve play facilities in the Chichester district is set to begin.
Chichester District Council is spending tens of thousands of pounds revamping parks after receiving lottery funding.
The money will be invested in improvements at Priory Park and the introduction of a new play area at New Park Road.
Councillor Nick Thomas, sports and culture boss at Chichester District Council, said: 'The play area at New Park Road will be primarily for younger children. Priory Park will be aimed at younger and older children.
'Both parks will be accessible to all and will have emphasis on natural materials that blend in.
'Projects like these are important because they provide families with facilities and activities that are safe, fun and free and that can be used throughout the year.'
The council has organised a number of 'playdays' this summer where families are invited to get involved in activities and see what play facilities are available.
A play day will be taking place between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on August 5 at Priory Park and again on August 7 at Bourne Community College, Southbourne.
