Police have arrested a man in connection with Hollam Road incident

 

POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing.

A 76-year-old man was stabbed when he opened the front door of his home in Hollam Road, Milton, last night.

He suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham where he is still being treated.

The alleged attacker is believed to be known to the elderly man’s daughter who was at the property at the time, around 8.20pm.

A 36-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.

In a statement police said: ‘This was an isolated incident and at this time police are not seeking any other person.’
