Man hit with chair in pub fight

A man was beaten on the head with a metal chair in a mass fight outside a Portchester pub.

The 29-year-old from needed treatment for a five inch wound after the disturbance in the car park of the Seagull.

Police hope his attacker will be easy to trace because of his distinctive tattoos.

Officers said that at some time between 10.15pm and 11pm on Sunday night an argument began between two groups of men in the pub.

The groups then moved outside into the pub car park and one man picked up a metal chair from a seating area and used it to hit the victim across the head causing a 4 to 5 inch laceration which required medical attention.

Police say the attacker is white, aged around 25, around 6ft tall, of stocky build, with short brown hair and has a Chinese dragon tattoo on his neck, various tattoos on his arms and a colourful tattoo on his chest

PC Keita Horten said: "We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this assault or anyone who has any information about the attack to come forward. Did you see anyone in the area matching the description of the offender?

"If you have any information about this incident, please come forward and help us find the person responsible."
