Missing OAP found after police search

A MISSING pensioner was found safe and well thanks to the help of alert staff at a Cosham store,

Police officers began searching for 80-year-old Anthony Woodthorpe just before 8.30pm last night.

Mr Woodthorpe, of Havant Road, Cosham, who suffers from dementia, had been missing for 40 minutes before the call was made to police.

He was found by staff in the Tesco Metro store, in High Street, Cosham, shortly after 9pm.

Hampshire Constabulary launched its helicopter and dog support unit, in order to find Mr Woodthorpe.

Officers used Twitter to help.

Once found, @pompeyccupolice tweeted: ‘Massive thanku to everyone’s retweets, Anthony Woodthorpe has been located safe & well #MISPER’.
