Missing Stubbington man is found safe

FOUND Alex Batchelor

FOUND Alex Batchelor

A YOUNG man who went missing has been found safe and well following a massive appeal.

Alex Batchelor, 25, who has Down’s Syndrome and learning disabilities, was due to be collected from Highbury College in Cosham, but was not there when his lift arrived at about 3pm yesterday.

Police put out an appeal last night, resulting in dozens of posts on Facebook and Twitter.

Ales, who lives in Stubbington, was found at a bus stop in Eastbourne, East Sussex, by two women shortly before 3am today.

Inspector Dean Gower, from Hampshire’s police control room, said: ‘He was found by two young women who saw him at a bus stop in Eastbourne having seen details on Hampshire Constabulary’s website.

‘We are hugely relieved he has been found safely as we were very worried about his safety.

‘We are very grateful to everybody that turned out to help us look for him and for all those people that spread news of his disappearance on various social networking sites.

‘I am pleased to say he’s shortly going to be reunited with his family.’
