More cold weather on its way

FORECASTERS are urging people to brace themselves for more cold weather as temperatures remain chilly.

Portsmouth area residents should wrap up warm if they plan to go out today because temperatures will dip to 42.8F (6C), which is below the average of 46.4F (8C).

The chill is a result of northerly winds which are making their way from The Arctic.

The Met Office say the rest of the week will remain cold with temperatures remaining at current levels.

A batch of rain will make its way into the region tomorrow and the weekend will see a mix of showers and sleet.

Forecaster Greg Dewhurst said: ‘It looks like it’s not getting colder or warmer.

‘There could be some showers around this morning but that should ease by the afternoon and make for some sunny spells.’
