PORTSMOUTH North MP Penny Mordaunt is supporting a campaign to make life-saving skills a mandatory part of the secondary school curriculum.
The British Heart Foundation and Resuscitation Council (UK) want to see Emergency Life Support skills taught in classrooms across England. Both parties are calling on the Government to include the skills to ensure know how to save a life.
Ms Mordaunt said: ‘By teaching life-saving skills in schools, we could put hundreds of thousands of new life-savers on the streets each year.
‘Every second counts in an emergency, so I’m supporting the campaign to make life-saving skills part of our children’s education.’
