Mum speaks of anguish over losing much-cherished son

THE mother of the man killed in a car crash on Saturday has told of her love for her son.

Joyce Greest, 73, of Wheeler Close, Gosport, said she will miss her son, a former member of the Life Guards regiment in the Household Cavalry.

Mrs Greest lives on her own after Mr Greest’s father, John, died in 2010 aged 78.

She said Mr Greest used to make dinner for her, bringing food to her home.

‘I loved him to bits. I can’t believe that he’s gone, I really can’t,’ she said.

‘He came on Tuesday to see me and brought me some flowers, he’d come to collect his plates.’
