NHS bosses face grilling
Health chiefs in the south will face a grilling in Parliament tomorrow over the level of care for people with muscle disease.
Last year, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Muscular Dystrophy (APPG) published the Walton Report, which highlighted NHS failings in the South Central region in providing adequate healthcare and services to children and adults with the disease.
MPs are not convinced decision makers in NHS South Central are doing enough to act on the report's recommendations to improve care for muscular disease sufferers.
As a result, health chiefs have been summoned to the House of Commons for a grilling. Answering MPs questions for South Central will be Simon Jupp, director of the South Central Specialised Commissioning Group and Dr Sally Nelson, the group's medical advisor.
