Pair arrested amid conspiracy probe
TWO people arrested in Gosport on suspicion of involvement with animal rights extremism have been bailed by police.
The 24-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both in their 20s, were arrested at a house in Alver Road, Gosport.
As part of the same operation a 50-year-old woman from Littlehampton in West Sussex was also taken into custody by police. She too has now been bailed.
The arrests were part of Operation Achilles, a massive police investigation into an alleged conspiracy targeting a variety of organisations and individuals, including Huntingdon Life Sciences in Cambridgeshire.
The three detainees were granted police bail until March.
In May, 30 properties across the UK and in Belgium and the Netherlands were raided as part of Operation Achilles. Police said 16 people had been charged and six remained on bail following their actions last year.
