PHONE lines and broadband services have gone down in parts of Southsea after cables were deliberately cut.
BT engineers have been working throughout the morning to fix the problem.
Customers reported the problem shortly after midday yesterday.
The main area affected is around Clarendon Road, including properties south of Albert Road, west of Festing Road and east of The Circle.
It is not yet known when the problem will be resolved.
A BT spokesman said it appeared to be vandalism, but they were investigating the incident.
