Plea for witnesses to fatal collision
A cyclist has died after a collision with a BMW car.
The dead man has been named as Michael Leech, a 44-year-old computer engineer of Hewitt Road, Hilsea, Portsmouth.
Mr Leech died on Saturday evening after suffering serious head injuries in the incident 24 hours earlier.
His bicycle was in collision with a BMW car at the junction of Western Road and Northarbour Road in Cosham at about 5.20pm on Friday.
The car was pulling out of Northarbour Road and Mr Leech was cycling eastbound on Western Road when the two collided.
Earlier in the day a motorcyclist was injured in a separate incident in Southampton Road in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth.
The 23-year-old man from Fareham was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital with fractured ribs and a broken pelvis after his silver motorbike collided with a blue Vauxhall Astra at about 8.30am.
The driver of the Astra, a 25-year-old Portsmouth man, was not injured.
Police are seeking witnesses who saw the collision involving Mr Leech, or who saw him cycling in Western Road or the A27 between Portchester and the crash scene.
