Police hunt for hooded youths over Portsmouth break-in

DETECTIVES are hunting a gang of hooded youths who burgled a home while the victim was in.

The 24-year-old woman was alerted to the break-in by her two dogs barking.

She also heard the kitchen door opening and went to investigate.

The woman then spotted three white youths, who were wearing hoodies.

They fled the property via the back door when they spotted her.

Police believe the burglars managed to get into the property in Blakemere Crescent, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, via the back gate at about 8.20pm on Tuesday.

The youths stole car keys and a peach coloured purse containing a bank card and £20.

Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or has any information about the suspects is asked to contact Det Con Les Leithes at Fratton police Station on 101.

Alternatively call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
