POLICE have confirmed they are holding a woman as part of a murder investigation in Fareham.

Andrew Taylor, 41, of Osborn Road South, Fareham, was discovered dead in a house in Gordon Road, Fareham, at 11.30am on Sunday.

Police have tonight revealed that a woman arrested in connection with the incident is being held on suspicion of murder.

Mr Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Home Office post-mortem examination took place today but officers say they can not yet confirm the cause of death to the media due to ongoing enquiries.

A 41-year-old woman from Fareham remains in police custody for questioning on suspicion of murder. A warrant of further detention was granted by Portsmouth Magistrates to extend her custody time until 11.15pm tomorrow.
