Police urge people to stand up to hate crime

PEOPLE who are suffering hate crime are being urged to report it to the police.

Petersfield Safer Neighbourhoods Team is encouraging the community to stand up to hate crime and are inviting them to an event to discuss any issues they may be experiencing.

A beat stand will be set up at Petersfield Library in The Square, next Wednesday between 10am and 1pm.

PCSO Dawn-Marie Gretton said: ‘I hope this event will encourage members of our communities, who may be suffering from hate crime, to come and speak to us.’

To report a hate crime, call 101.
