Police ask for help after raid on West Sussex shop
POLICE are hunting for a man after thousands of pounds was stolen during a robbery at a Co-op store.
Officers went to the Co-op, in The Parade, Bognor, after reports of two men entering the shop and threatening staff with a machete.
Terrified staff handed over cash and a large sum of cash was taken.
Staff, although shaken, were not hurt.
Police are still appealing for information following the incident, which happened at about 6.30am on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Russ Burgess, of West Sussex CID, said: ‘We are currently working to locate a second man who we believe was involved in this robbery.’
Call police on 101.
· Dean Hardman, 32, of Chalcraft Lane, Bognor, appeared before Chichester Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody until April.
