Pompey star helps raise cash

A captain's arm-band belonging to Pompey star Linvoy Primus has fetched £87 at a charity auction.

The defender was one of a host of football stars who signed and framed captains' armbands for a unique online auction.

Primus' arm-band went on sale from November 12 and bidding closed at 87.

The auction was held in aid of the Willow Foundation and the Steve Bernard Foundation.

The Willow Foundation, set up by former Arsenal goalkeeper, Bob Wilson, and his wife, Megs, provides special days for seriously ill 16 to 40- year-olds throughout the UK.

The Steve Bernard Foundation supports sporting projects in memory of sports-mad Steve who sadly passed away in November 2005.

Since its formation in February 2006, the Steve Bernard Foundation has supported more than 40 projects across 16 sports and four continents.

The projects range from work with a disabled football team to outreach schemes in Kenya, Uganda and Thailand.
