A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £500 after he admitted two offences of fly-tipping.
Portsmouth City Council prosecuted Wesley David Page, 35, of Spenlow Close in Buckland, after CCTV cameras spotted him dumping rubbish from his Volkswagen van.
He was seen leaving garden clippings in Tipner Lane, Tipner, on June 22 last year.
He also dumped clippings and household waste in Scott Road, Hilsea on June 30.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates on Monday and told to pay the council’s costs of £532.
Paul Fielding, the assistant head of transport and environment at the council, said: ‘Fly-tipping is an offence which affects the quality of life of residents.
‘When we get evidence of who is responsible, we will not hesitate to take the appropriate action.’
