Portsmouth mum joins march to Downing Street
Families who have lost loved ones to the human form of man cow's disease are marching to Downing Street today to demand justice.
Christine Lords, whose 24-year-old son Andrew died from variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) in 2007, has organised the demonstration in the capital to coincide with International CJD Day.
Along with other grieving relatives from our area, she will be calling for justice for victims and asking Prime Minister David Cameron to bring in blood screening tests for vCJD to prevent future deaths.
Mrs Lord said: 'We want justice for all victims of vCJD here in the UK and across our global community, accountability, responsibility and justice.
'We want to prevent further deaths. To do that we need answers and demand action from the Prime Minister.'
The families will hold a memorial service, reading out the names of victims, outside the Ministry of Justice.
