WORK to repair potholes is being speeded up.
West Sussex County Council is investing £30m to repair the worst roads in the county.
Contractors have been repairing the roads all summer to make them safe for the winter weather ahead.
Because the work so far has been completed ahead of schedule, the council has decided to accelerate the programme.
Councillor Pieter Montyn, who oversees highways, said: ‘We made good use of the weather and within four months half the streets due to be treated have been done.
‘We have been able to draw down £1.5m from next year’s budget so we can do work originally planned for 2015 now.’
