Probe starts into crash involving marked police car

HAMPSHIRE Constabulary has launched an internal investigation after one of its cars was involved in a crash.

The two-vehicle collision happened near the mini roundabout at the Locksway Road junction with Milton Road in Milton, Portsmouth.

However his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and he was treated by crews from South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust at the scene as a precaution.

The female police officer who was driving the Skoda, and the passenger, suffered minor injuries.

The police car was not responding to a call-out at the time and was not pursuing the Renault Clio. Police are investigating the collision internally in line with force procedure.

John Grant, 50, of Oakdene Road, Southsea, witnessed the aftermath of the incident.
