Pupils raise hundreds for canine helpers
KIND-HEARTED pupils put their fundraising powers to the test and raised £750 for the charity Dogs For The Disabled.
The youngsters from Brune Park Community College in Gosport tried all means to make money.
Some took part in non-stop swims and workouts while others held raffles and did sponsored silences.
Maria Penfold, the Year 9 team leader, said: 'This is a phenomenal amount of money.
'This is a superb effort and I want the people of Gosport to know what a caring group of young people we have at Brune Park.'
The money will help the charity to give more support.
Dogs For The Disabled's aim is to create life-changing partnerships by training assistant dogs to help disabled children and adults lead fuller and more independent lives.
The schoolchildren handed over the big cheque to an appropriate representative of the charity – a help dog called Farah.
