Quorn crew's sea row
Sailors on a Portsmouth-based warship have rowed non-stop from home to Suffolk to raise money for the RNLI.
The 750-ton minehunter HMS Quorn arrived in her affiliated port of Ipswich for the first time on Friday for a four-day visit.
It marked the end of a 48-hour on-board row by members of the ship's company.
Between Friday and yesterday commanding officer Lieutenant Commander Tim Neild met the mayor and hosted a reception on board.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoon, groups of local visitors had the chance to visit the ship.
Ipswich's mayor David Hale said: 'It was a wonderful chance to forge new friendships and continue a long naval tradition here.
'Sir Thomas Slade, who designed HMS Victory, is buried at a waterfront church in the town, and Lord Nelson was once high steward of Ipswich.'
The ship left Ipswich yesterday to continue her deployment.
