MORE than 2,000 tonnes of ballast has been used to repair a landslip that caused disruptions for rail commuters.

Rail engineers have been working round the clock to fix the problem which was causing havoc for people using trains between Petersfield and Haslemere. A major landslip between Liss and Liphook, caused by heavy rain before Christmas, saw the line closed with replacement buses running instead.

Bosses at South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance thanked customers for their patience.
