THE A3M in Hampshire has been reopened after a crash that saw pig carcasses and offal spread across the road.

The lorry was headed northbound on the A3(M) when the accident happened about 4pm, 100m north of the entrance to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park at Horndean.

Police had to close one northbound and one southbound lane, causing long delays for commuters.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said an ambulance had been called, but it was unclear if there were any injuries.

The spokesman said the motorway would remain partially closed until the pig remains had been cleared.

The road was reopened at 10pm.
