FOUR sailors on board Portsmouth-based HMS Iron Duke have been awarded medals for their service.
Warrant Officer Ian Leach has been rewarded for 30 years’ service, and receiving medals for clocking up 15 distinguished years were Lieutenant David Donbavand, Chief Petty Officer Cameron May and Petty Officer Jonty Sutton.
Commander Tom Tredrav, the commanding officer of HMS Iron Duke, said: ‘To be awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct medal is testament to years of committed and service.’
The Type 23 frigate is preparing to return to operational duties after a lengthy refit period.
