Season ticket-holders 'won't lose their cash'
Season ticket-holders at Fratton Park won't lose their money if the club is liquidated, its administrators have promised.
Pompey fans will soon be asked, in common with supporters of other clubs, to renew their tickets for next season, or to buy a ticket for the first time.
But if the club was liquidated, they could have faced paying more than 700 for a ticket and not been refunded even though it failed to fulfil its fixtures.
But at a meeting with fans' groups before Saturday's FA Cup quarter final against Birmingham City, Michael Kiely, associate partner at administrators UHY Hacker Young, assured fans the season ticket revenue would be 'ring-fenced' and placed in a separate account, so that it could be returned to fans in the event of liquidation.
He said: 'All revenue generated from season tickets would be placed in a separate account, so if next season didn't happen, people would get their money back. We will look into details shortly.'
The money would be able to be used by the club provided it survived to play next season.
