Sir Robin to talk about his record-breaking

Yachtsman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston will give a free lecture about his experience and motivation to sail around the world.

Sir Robin became the first person to sail singlehanded and non-stop around the world in 1969.

He also completed the Velux5Oceans solo around the world race in fourth position in 2006/7 at the age of 68.

Involved in the sailing world both on water and in the board room, he became the President of the Sail Training Association in 1992 and is Chairman of Clipper Ventures plc.

The lecture will take place at the University of Portsmouth's Portland Building in Portland Street at 6pm on Thursday, July 9.
