Snappy happy way to raise cash in memory of Hannah

Hannah Westbrook's smile could light up a room.

Now five years after her death, the memory of her beaming grin will help bring joy to dozens of sick children and their families.

A new scheme will see a photo studio donate profits from pictures taken to a charity set up in Hannah's honour.

Hannah's Smiles is being launched today – the anniversary of the 10-year-old's death from Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Hannah's mum, Pam Marshall, 40, of Nightjar Close, Horndean, said: 'She was a very happy, smiley girl. Even during her treatment, people remembered how happy she was.

'She was always smiling in hospital and giving the other children a smile. So I think this is a really brilliant idea and very fitting.'

Rob Paul Studios, based in East Street, Havant, will give 50 per cent of any booking fee and 10 per cent of sales from any customer that quotes Hannah's Smiles to the charity.

The money will go to Hannah's Holiday Home – which provides holidays for families whose children suffer from debilitating diseases.

The holiday home in Oakdene Forest Park, New Forest, opened last year after Hannah's family spent 45,000 on the facility. This year 27 families have booked in.

Paul Burrows, who owns Rob Paul studios, said: 'We believe that it is important to help smaller charities like Hannah's Holiday Home as they often get overlooked.

'We believe that this charity goes a long way to help families that have children who have cancer.'

As well as launching the scheme, Hannah's family is having a meal at a restaurant to mark the anniversary of her death and celebrate her life.

Mum Mrs Marshall said: 'It's very much a turning point. Out of sadness, lots of positives have come. It means a lot for our family to be helping other families.'

Hannah's Holiday Home has had another boost after Paige Mills won a

competition at Crookhorn College of Technology and designed a colourful logo for the charity.
