Soberton driver was over limit

MOTORIST Gemma Stevens was caught driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

She pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Titchfield Lane, Wickham, after drinking too much on January 8.

A test revealed the 21-year-old’s breath contained 78 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Stevens, from Heath Road, Soberton, was fined £190 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 in court costs by Fareham magistrates.

She was banned from driving for 18 months.

The ban could be reduced by 134 days on the condition that she pays to complete a government-approved driving course by January 18, 2013.
