Student Richard scoops engineering prize

A local student at the University of Portsmouth has beaten off strong competition to win a top prize.

Richard Ward, from Gosport, recently completed his final year and won the Best Civil Engineering Degree Individual Project Student Award, which is sponsored by recruiting experts Hays.

The purpose of the award is to promote, recognise and reward excellence in the field of civil engineering. Hays Civil & Structural recently attended a prizegiving ceremony to present a cheque and framed certificate to the proud student.

Rob Fry, Director at Hays Civil & Structural, says: 'This prize is a small step to reward the next generation for their hard work.'
