Police gave chase after the teenager hit a parked car in Fareham

A TEENAGER was involved in a police pursuit when he tried to drive away after hitting a parked car last night.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said a male in his late teens driving a red Vauxhall Cavalier collided with a parked vehicle in Mill Road, Fareham, before driving off.

The car then stopped at the roundabout near Old Gosport Road.

‘There was a call from a member of the public at 1am,’ said the spokesman.

‘It appears that the vehicle was trying to turn and has hit another vehicle and tried to make off.

‘There was then a very short pursuit and then the vehicle came to a halt between the viaduct and the Gosport roundabout.’

The driver was then treated for non-serious injuries, while firefighters from Fareham Fire Station were also called to the scene.
