Third adjournment in Katrice harassment case

MISSING Katrice Lee

MISSING Katrice Lee

THE woman charged with harassing the Gosport family of a missing toddler who vanished more than 30 years ago has had her case adjourned for the third time.

Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court in County Durham heard today that Donna Wright, 33, is not deemed well enough to attend court.

Wright, of Hillside Court, Spennymoor, is accused of using Facebook to harass Katrice’s sister Natasha Lee and mother Sharon Lee.

She is charged with one count of harassment without violence and is accused of sending ‘numerous emails and Facebook postings to the victims’ between December 2011 and November 24 2012.

District Judge Martin Walker was told yesterday that Wright was not deemed medically fit to attend court.

He asked that Wright attend the next hearing on February 27 or more detailed reasons for her absence be given.

He said: ‘It is not fair to the public who have a legitimate interest in this case that it keeps being adjourned.

‘Progress is something necessary in justice.’

Wright’s defence barrister Jane Scott said she hoped to show the court a psychiatrist’s report on Wright.

Wright’s bail was extended, with conditions preventing her from looking at or posting any comments on the Facebook page of Katrice Lee, or contacting the Lees or administrators of the page.

Katrice was two-years-old went she went missing from a NAAFI supermarket in Paderborn, Germany in 1981,
