Use the right tickets or face a ban, Pompey fans told

Pompey fans have been warned they could face a ban if they try and sneak into Fratton Park using someone else's cheap tickets.

The club says that people getting into the ground on concessionary tickets belonging to others will be kicked out and could a ban from going to future games.

The crackdown comes amid suspicions of an increase in people illegitimately using cheap tickets since the introduction of the automated turnstiles.

With entrance to the ground managed electronically, fans do not necessarily come into contact with anyone who could easily recognise they were not entitled to the concessionary tickets available to seniors, juniors and young people.

Club spokesman Gary Double said: 'There seems to be an increasing

number of people being caught with the wrong tickets at the moment.

'Since the turnstiles have become electronic we've been more open to abuse. Because you put your ticket in the machine and walk through, there has been an increase.'

He added: 'We don't want people to miss the games.

'They know they're doing it but we don't want to be in a situation that

a big game comes up and people cannot get in.'
